A Community Champion is a person who collaborates with a variety of partners to strengthen school, business, and non-profit relationships for the benefit of the community and our students.
Congratulations to Skowhegan Area High School's Winter Community Champion, Laurie McFarland!
Laurie is completing her 25th year in our district. She has been a class advisor, Olympia Snowe Leaders liaison, and Upward bound coordinator, connecting our students with countless opportunities outside the classroom. Laurie's compassion for students and their families is strong, and regardless of personal challenges she always puts our students first. She is a team player who contributes to the services of the guidance department with her insights, organizational skills, and thoughtfulness.
