Earlier this month, our high school seniors launched the Adopt-A-Classroom Program for the 2025–2026 school year! Through this initiative, seniors partner with third-grade classrooms across the district to build connections and inspire younger students through career and future planning activities.

During each visit, seniors share their own career goals and post-graduation plans, ranging from becoming a neurologist to a nail technician, and lead hands-on career exploration activities designed to spark curiosity and confidence in our third graders.

Sheryl Gray, a third-grade teacher at Mill Stream Elementary in Norridgewock, shared:

“The kids loved connecting with the older students and had a lot of great questions. They were able to connect with them in a really positive way about their futures and goals. The high school students made the kids feel safe to share their dreams and reassured them that with hard work, they can accomplish anything and that the world needs people in all kinds of careers!”

We’re so excited to see this year’s program underway and to watch our seniors grow as mentors and leaders while helping to inspire the next generation of River Hawks!
