Writing Bibliography Entries

For every source you use, you must record a bibliography entry. This entry includes information such as author name, title, publication information, volume numbers, copyright dates, and page numbers. Not all entries will look exactly alike because the format will vary with different types of sources. Pay close attention to the order of the information, punctuation, and indentation. Double-space all entries. Be aware that you may not find every item for each section of the entry. Fill in as many pieces as you can find. Below you will find examples of bibliography entries for the more common types of sources. If you do not see the type you need, refer to Capital Community College's Research Site.
