Woodworking
In the SAHS woodworking program, students will explore a rewarding experience of learning the safe use of tools and materials in the shop/industrial setting. Shop students will explore employability skills and attitudes that transfer to any career. Students will plan, estimate, and construct a project that they work on throughout the semester. upon successful completion, the project will be taken home to enjoy and showcase the students skill and ability.
Metals
The metals class is an introductory course covering basic welding and cutting processes. Students will be introduced to shielded metal arc, gas metal arc, gas tungsten arc, and oxyacetylene welding, as well as oxyacetylene and plasma cutting. Students will use other various tools to complete a basic project. This course will give students a grasp of the basic process that they can build on in the advanced class.
